Model ( )-420DC or ( )-420AC Automated Pilot Control
The Singer Model ( )-420DC or ( )-420AC is a SCADA-based 420-mA motor operated pilot system that provides for a reliable, simple and cost efficient way to automate today's water systems.
In the case of the ( )420-DC, a sturdy slow speed 24VDC motor actuator drive is fitted to a standard Singer Valve pilot, most commonly, the Model 160-Pressure Reducing Pilot (which then becomes Model# 160-420DC.) The minimum system pressure downstream of the pressure reducing valve is set by adjusting the pilot screw that compresses the pilot spring. The motor actuator responds to a 4-20mA signal, rotating the pilot adjusting
screw corresponding to the change in signal. The number of turns is adjustable and may be programmed to suit the pressure change per turn of the pilot screw to produce the desired maximum and minimum downstream pressure. (Note that the system pressure determines the spring selection).
